I am Karishma Chaudhary and I always wanted to pursue a career where I can create something so I choose architecture as my profession. I chose this field because I knew it is here I will get full opportunity to showcase my talent whether academically or in creative fields. That’s why I wanted to go to a college for my degree in Architecture where my innovative ideas and designs will be encouraged and where I will be able to translate my thought process and design in reality!

After much deliberation and discussion with experts of this field, I chose to pursue Architecture degree from M.M School of Architecture, MMU, Sadopur campus. The most interesting aspect that helped me a lot here was when students were told to present different topics in groups or individually. This is how we learnt timeliness, discipline, importance of research and gained expertise in many topics.

Students get a lot of practical exposure during the program which makes us confident to face the real-life professional challenges. I know now how to complete a project and what it feels like when you complete a full project.

Site visits, opportunity to learn new things from colleagues, learning new software, learning how to manage multiple projects and working in team definitely are the plus points in favour of MMU curriculum. I would like to share that our teachers used to make models, presentations and show us certain research papers etc to make us understand the topics better. The lectures were interactive. Faculty member were very cooperative. They constantly motivated us to go beyond our comfort zone and break barriers.

For me, my college time was a wonderful experience. I became committed towards my designs. I didn’t face any difficulty during my internship or during job.

Participation in extracurricular activities gave me a lot of confidence to speak freely in front of so many people and courage to never give up.  I was so confident when I joined the office like I can handle things and was ready to take initiatives and responsibilities myself.

At present, I am working as a junior architect in PSI Energy Pvt. Ltd. I have also done a few projects on my own. Other than this, I am a team member in an NGO called Swaraj. We are working on sustainability at its root in Swaraj. I conducted three workshops for a batch of 50 people in DIT, Dehradun and local schools in Modinagar. And whatever I have achieved in this field today, it is because of MM School of Architecture.
